Ma’ak Nazel (Going down with you).

An adaption of the German musical production “Line #1”, this theater production was a milestone in the history of Yemeni theater, achieving great level of public success and scoring high reviews between critics and writers. The production premiered in Sana’a in October 2009. After playing in several Yemeni cities and reaching international interest, the production took off to Europe and was presented in Berlin in June 2010, becoming the first Yemeni play to be performed in Europe.

In this adopted production, Amal is a victim of tourist marriage; a trend spreading wide in Yemen where an older man from the Gulf countries marries her for several days then disappears from her life, leaving her alone and pregnant. A year later, Amal learns that her husband is in Aden. She follows him to the city, reaches the bus station in Aden and begin meeting locals; each with different background representing a fabric of the Yemen society.
